As I was proud to say the other day, when our Career Expos draw nearer (like our cross-country events this Thursday and next Tuesday), I get to hear from a whole lot of incredible people. Whether absolutely on point and ready to go, or just hearing about us for the first time, everybody wants to know more about what they can do to prepare. Remember that if you don't ask, the answer's always no. Some of the things I get asked frequently that I thought you all might want to hear:
The only papers you need to bring are plenty of copies of your resume - a good rule of thumb is twice as many copies as the amount of employers you plan on speaking with. If you don't have a resume, that's okay - before you head out, check out our free Military Resume Builder feature on our site to get your accomplishments down in a great professional format in no time.
After events, I'll ocassionally get asked for an employer's contact information because the guy on the other end of the line "lost the business card". Do me a favor and don't ever do this. How serious should I think this person is about getting hired if they can't hold onto a business card? You need to treat them like the One Ring, the key to Davy Jones' locker, and Super Bowl tickets all in one, at the very least. Get yourself a separate plastic wallet insert if you need at any superstore specifically to hold them, and set a goal for the amount you will walk away with!
More to come for sure... it is, after all, almost game time! Thanks to all of you for your awesome attitudes and desire for success.

Veterans Day is surely siapcel. We have our freedom, to live the way we do here, because of all who fought in those awful wars. My husband is a big history buff so we've been watching about veterans on the military and history channels tonight. today is also a siapcel day for babies being born since their birthdate will be 11-11-11.
